Always and Forever Brings the Trilogy to an End

Adapted from Jenny Han’s novel, the much-anticipated Valentine's day release, To All the Boys: Always and Forever, proves to be more than just a crowd-pleaser. Finishing off the extremely popular teen trilogy, this feel-good rom-com left its audience believing in true love.  The film’s plot revolves around Lara Jean Song-Covey (Lana Condor) and Peter Kavnisky (Noah Centineo). We find our star couple in their most-awaited senior year, already making plans for college at Stanford together and beyond. But when Lara Jean gets rejected by Stanford, she begins to rethink her future. With Peter on one hand and her obligation to stay true to herself on the other, Lara Jean must finally grow up and own her decisions, even if those decisions put her three thousand miles away from her bae. Contrasting the last two movies, Han spotlights Lara Jean’s relationship with her sisters, Kitty (Anne Cathcart) and Margot (Janel Parrish), and her friends. Whether it be singing K-Pop in Seoul with her si

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Hello Everyone!  I hope you all are staying safe and healthy during this pandemic-version holiday. On this day, I'd like to give thanks to everyone who has supported me through this past year. I couldn't have made it without you!  I'm super excited about what the new year will bring. #Classof2021 WOO HOO The next installment of my book will be out before break ends. (It's gonna be a good one :) ) However, most of all, I'd like to thank my readers. Without your feedback and honesty, I wouldn't have become a stronger, better author. I'd like to thank my parents, who have stuck by me in every moment. I'd like to thank my friends for being so reliable and trustworthy. Moreover, I'd like to thank the year 2020. 2020 has taught me how to be more grateful and find a solution in the darkest of times. 2020 has taught me hope and belief.  I hope this holiday season everyone will spend time with their loved ones. May the new year bring lots of happiness and ch

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite holidays, not only because it means Christmas is right around the corner but also I get to spend time with my family. Although my family and I don't celebrate Thanksgiving in a traditional way, we always have a blast making delicious food, watching movies, and making more memories. We always like to welcome people into our home and feast.  However, with COVID cases rising, we, like many other families, changed our 'typical' Thanksgiving. This year, we are keeping our celebrations small and in-house - still with mouth-watering food and lots of laughter.  There is so much to be grateful for. I am thankful for my friends, who are like a second family. I am thankful for my health, even more, this year. I am thankful for the first-responders, the front line workers, the doctors, and healthcare officials who are putting their lives on the line for us.  I am eternally thankful for my family, who have made quarantine bearable and keeping eac

Manifestation: Is it a Myth?

A couple years ago I read a book called The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. With 2020 coming to a wrap and everyone beginning their New Year resolutions, I've found the art of manifestation extremely enticing. You always hear "cut negative people out of your life" or "positive vibes only," but do you ever stop to think why this is? It's because of the Law of Attraction. Notoriously known to be one of the natural sciences' founding principles is heavily applicable to manifestation.  Suppose you'd like to get an interview for an internship, then with the Law of Attraction all you have to do is wish for it. But not just a simple wish. You have to see yourself at the interview, doing well, and then excelling at the internship. The law states that you can attract specific things that you want as long as you consistently wish for them.  There are many ways to sustain your manifestation methods. Many include bedtime programming, repetition, vision boards, and much

Ganesh Festival

‘Modak’ is one of my favorite food made at the Ganesh festival. I and Lord Ganesha share one common thing that is this Modaks. LOL. It is basically fresh coconut and jaggery mixed with poppy seeds, nutmeg, cardamom, and stuffed inside a sachet made with rice flour and saffron, then steamed. I think in Malaysia they have something similar as well. Most of the Hindus celebrate the Lord Ganesh festival in late Aug/early Sept as per the Hindu calendar. Modaks are one of the offerings made for god. It's a 10-day festival and I have fond memories of celebrating it in India while being on Summer vacation. While the whole family, uncles/aunts/cousins come together for 10days and pray to this deity for wealth, knowledge, prosperity. Eat lots of food and have fun! It's like having Christmas all over again. Lord Ganesha is an elephant-headed god and he is a younger son of Lord Shiva and Parvati. This festival is celebrated as his Birthday. One of the popular legends says Lord Ganesha was

The Prologue : Her & I

UPDATE: The entire book and the rest of the chapters have been published on Amazon Kindle on Valentine's Day in 2022. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've always thought of writing a book, maybe a novelette, so here it is. The Prologue of my book. Stay tuned for updates to the story. This is a work of fiction. Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental. The story, all names, characters, and incidents portrayed in this production are fictitious. No identification with actual persons (living or deceased), places, buildings, and products is intended or should be inferred.  Her & I The Prologue  We had been friends for a while, three years to be exact, but last year was the one -- the time of my life, the time of her life (probably), the time of our lives. It was unbelievable how similar we were, we both took the same classes

Fans Don’t Love P.S. I Still Love You

Directed by Micheal Fimognari, the much-anticipated Valentine day release, P.S. I Still Love You, proves to be a disappointment to the series’ fans. The sequel tends to deliver a lowballed continuation of the first movie, lacking both character development and plot progression. The second installment in the series falls victim to the sequel curse. The first film features Lara Jean (Lana Condor) as a shy girl who silently fantasizes about her crushes and writes five love letters to the boys she’s ever loved. One day, her younger sister Kitty (Anna Cathcart) mails all five of the letters. The resulting romantic mix-ups culminated in Lara Jean finding love with one of the letters’ recipients, Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo). The film’s plot starts where the first film left it, Lara Jean is entering her first real relationship, along with all of her insecurities, later proving to be a vital factor in the couple’s falling-out.  Throughout the movie, the audience is soon disheartene

Turn Back Time

The TV turns off. I've just finished watching another amazing Harry Potter movie for the hundredth time: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The movie leaves me contemplating what if I could also turn back time, what if I could fix all mistakes, would I be happier? luckier? I push off those thoughts due to foolishness, yet two hours later, I still think of all the things that I would fix if I could back in time. Maybe I would have a better GPA, maybe I would still be friends with a few people, maybe I would lose a few, maybe... I think that this never-ending cycle of regret made me realize that no matter how hard I wish to turn back the clock and no matter how hard the experiences have been, they have shaped me into who I am today. They have taught me something special, making me a better, more mature person. As I look at my hardest moments, I can see how they have shaped my beliefs. I dont know what the effect of fixing all of my mistakes would be, but I do know that spend
